Colt Ford took to Instagram to honor one of his childhood best friends, David Reynolds McGill.  Colt mentions on that David had an open spine and couldn’t walk.  Colt notes that the lyrics, “I’d give a million bucks if that old boy was still here” from the 2012 hit song “Back (feat. Jake Owen)” are about David.

So that Amazing Guy with the Beard is David Reynolds McGill and his Cousin Rodney. We all grew up together. David was my Best Friend he was born with an Open Spine and never Walked a Day in his Life but don’t think for one second he didn’t Live cause He Did. He Inspired Us all with his Amazing Smile and Incredible Attitude about Life. He was just our Buddy. We played Hide & Seek and We Pushed him went Skating we Pushed Him he was just One of Us. I named My Son after him “Reynolds” I’m sure he has some of His Spirt I know I Do. I wish you all could have Known Him. In My Song Back I talk about Him about how I would “Give a Million Bucks if that Ol Boy Was Still Here” I would give more really. For some reason he always Believed in Me. I hope he is looking down and able to Walk now and I Pray he knows what he Meant to Me. I get to catch that Mischievous Smile of his in My Son cause he has it. God I wanna say Thank You from Me and everyone you let meet My Buddy. We were all the lucky ones. He passed away 18 years ago today. He is Gone but will never be Forgotten! I Love You Brother Thank You for all the lessons you taught some I’m still Learning. God Bless Colt
